Hi, I'm Jo-Anne

I've spent nearly two decades in dance, as a professional dancer, a dance school owner, and a specialist working directly with primary schools..

Over time, I noticed the same challenge appearing again and again. Teachers wanted to teach dance. They valued creativity, movement and expression. But many felt unsure, underprepared or worried they were ‘doing it wrong’.

The issue wasn’t enthusiasm.

It was a lack of a clear, accessible structure.

That’s why I developed the JTE Method.

Why the JTE Method exists

The JTE Method was created to help teachers deliver high-quality dance lessons without needing specialist dance training.

It provides:

  • clear stages teachers can follow

  • flexibility to link dance to any topic

  • opportunities for pupil-led creativity

  • progression that builds confidence over time

My aim is simple: to make dance feel achievable, purposeful and enjoyable in every classroom.

Why the JTE Method exists

I believe:

  • teachers don’t need to perform to teach effectively

  • children thrive when given structure and creative freedom

  • confidence grows through clear, simple guidance, not complex lesson plans

Everything I deliver is practical, supportive and rooted in the realities of school life.
